locked entry

Inside each of us is a key—a key that can unlock any barrier in our way.

It’s been over a week since I last wrote. I just wrapped up the longest week I’ve had since starting this business back in 2017.

The project began at the end of June with a deadline so tight it almost felt impossible.

Looking back, it was too tight. But sometimes the projects that push you the hardest are the ones that open something inside you.

In 36 days, my team and I built 12 showers, installed 6,800 square feet of flooring, painted every wall, ceiling, and piece of trim, and rebuilt two kitchens.

On paper, this was a 90-day job.

We finished it in just over a month, and in the process, we unlocked something we didn’t know we had.

There were moments I wanted to quit. Times I thought about making excuses or asking for more time. But there was no more time to give. This was a make-or-break project for my company.

The last four days were brutal, 18-hour workdays, back to back.

I pushed my team harder than ever before. And they pushed right alongside me. All eight of us moved as one unit.

Quitting wasn’t even a thought.

Growth has a way of testing you. The barriers we face are often ones we put there ourselves.

A good friend once told me that our bodies are capable of far more than we think, it’s our minds that need the real training.

We have to be willing to get uncomfortable, to endure the pain of progress.

The “locks” in our minds are just safety measures, keeping us in our comfort zones. But when you finally find the key and turn it, the gate swings open.

And on the other side?

Another stretch of road, another horizon to chase.

Somewhere down that path, there’s another gate waiting.

And somewhere inside you is the key.

Just keep going.
