Buy it for Life

“AK47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfu@$% in the room accept no substitutes.”, Ordell Robie, Jackie Brown

That line comes to mind as I prep for an upcoming project.

It’s crude, sure, but the principle is spot on: when the stakes are high, second best isn’t an option.

I’ve come to believe in a simple business philosophy: buy it once, buy it for life.

If the livelihood of your family depends on the tools of your trade, then you owe it to yourself (and them) to invest in the best.

I follow Per Håkansson here on LinkedIn.

He talks a lot about minimalism, living and working with less.

It resonates.

As a business owner, I don’t want clutter.

I want gear that performs, holds up under pressure, and pays for itself over and over again.

That’s why I lean into Hilti Group tools.

There are plenty of other brands out there, but this one?

Miles ahead.

My entire approach to construction is rooted in what I learned from woodworking and cooking: Sharp tools are safer, faster, and better.

It’s wild what happens when you give top-tier tools to skilled craftsmen.

My Hilti jackhammer alone has returned over 400% on my initial investment and still hits like it’s fresh out the box.

If you’re building a business, remember this:

Never cut corners on knowledge or tools.

Learn relentlessly.

Invest intentionally.

And never settle for second best.

Q: Can you guess what I am about to get myself into?
