Build something beautiful

For the past two months, I’ve been pushing hard—big commercial projects, heavy-duty work, nothing particularly pretty.

But this last week in Houston, I had a chance to stop by my partner’s jobsite.

I was awestruck.

The project was stunning.

I couldn’t have been prouder.

Eight years ago, when we started in home remodeling, it was tough.

Our first project? A small, sub-$10,000 remodel.

The project I saw this week?

Let’s just say it was a bit more than $10K.

One of the greatest joys of these past eight years has been watching my partner evolve into an incredible designer.

As she approaches graduation, I can’t wait to see what she does next.

The photos I posted today don’t even begin to capture her talent—I was just too excited to not write about it.

Soon enough, I’ll bring my trusty Leica to the jobsite and do her work justice.

But today, I just want to acknowledge the journey—the struggles, the growth, the passion.

And most of all, I want to say this: building with a life partner is next level.

PS: If you are thinking about getting into the self employed game, your ideal partner may be sitting right next to you.
