Run, Sh*t, or Bleed
When faced with a challenge, we’ve got three options: run away, freeze in fear (sh*t your pants), or go all in (bleed).
From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to “play” with tools.
Growing up, I was never allowed to touch the cutting torch. My dad knew that if he taught me how to use it, I’d probably end up cutting everything on the farm.
Fast forward to 2025. The project I’m on now required cutting out the blower motor assembly for a five-story building.
So I went to the welding supply store, picked up everything I needed, and got to work.
I’m far from an expert, but I got the job done.
I chose to bleed instead of run or freeze. None of my guys had ever used a torch before, and if anyone was going to take the risk and figure it out—it was going to be me.
These days, I’m surrounded by a hardcore crew—all ex–special forces.
They’re built different. Their confidence and mindset are next level, and being around them pushes me to be the best version of myself.
In this team we’ve forged, I have become the “operator.”
Surround yourself with people who challenge you, who’ll stand beside you when it’s time to bleed, and who’ll go out there and make sh*t happen.
Because it’s only when we get out of our own way that we truly grow.
