Chapter 7: Scarry Places
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me….. I also have my 357 should prayers not work.
Yes, that is what you think it is.
Yes, this is my jobsite.
Yes, this falls within the scope of building things.
Of all of the work sites I have been on, this site has to be the absolute creepiest. This scene looks like something out of a horror movie. And today I will start work.
Progress is brutal, some times I wonder which way I am heading, yet someone must clean up the mess. Abandoned buildings and houses create a petri dish for the worst of society. These places become the post apocalyptic scenes we think only exist in movies. I shutter to think what has happened within these walls over the years since being abandoned.
Yet, there is an intrinsic value to this property, it still shows up on a balance sheet. I have never understood the abandonment of buildings or the machines, I guess my net worth is not high enough to where millions of dollars can just rot away.
My task for this project is simple, make this building impenetrable!
In many ways I welcome the challenge. My approach to a project such as this is simple, start at the top and work your way down. There is so much all around that could easily throw me for a loop. Head down, don’t stop till victory is achieved.
I am having so much fun building and fixing things, who would have thought that two college degrees would be required to do work like this. That is what I get the biggest kick out of, a friend of mine once told me to become the guy that people call. I like to call this season the search for boundary conditions.
I think AI is amazing and I use it often, but there are some tasks best serviced by humans. In some future chapter I will discuss how I use AI, Blockchain and other technologies to enhance my businesses. But I know that as long as I keep showing up and answering calls there is always something that needs to be done.
Thanks for reading and following the adventures of a guy that builds things.
